Family Gathering (December 30th, 2008)

Most of the family members from grand-maman's side managed to meet to have supper together. Tante Mireille is a fabulous cook and it was delicious as alway
s. I think she got some help from her beautiful daughter Ariane.

I kept on looking for two things during the evening, Maya the cat and Melissa my mom.

I don't understand why but they kept on disappearing!

I ended having a lot of fun with my tante Caro and my cousin Charlotte. We spent most of the evening looking for the cat in the laundry room.

The men caught up on the latest news

and trips done over the last few months.

I found other ways to entertain myself, such as singing Happy Birthday or Ma Chère Maya, c'est à ton tour de te laisser parler d'amour to myself and to make a wish before blowing the candle. I love this celebration ritual. Mom and dad keep on telling me it's my birthday everyday anyway! What a life, I must be a princess. Anyhow enjoy this clip and the rest of the holidays.

New Year's Eve (December 31st, 2008)

Mommy had the great idea to go downtown visit an archeology museum on this last day of 2008. Mommy read that there was a special gathering of four types of Santa under the same roof. I had to wait a good hour before I got to meet them. I wandered through the pots, pipes, coins, arrow heads and small remnants from our ancestors. So much fun, I really enjoyed going up and down all the stairs. We also saw an exhibit about Costa Rica at the speed of light before I was tempted to touch anything!

I finally got to meet Babouchka from Russia and I sat by her fire in her cabin to listen to her story about how every year she delivers presents to little children in the hope of finding Jesus.Mommy really enjoyed learning about all those traditions, so did I. Daddy was so impressed that I could focus and listen to people for so long. He couldn't, he kept on staring at me!

We also met Melchior, a king from Persia who was sent along with two other kings to deliver presents to baby Jesus. I wonder who that Jesus is. He must be important!

For the first time of my life, I got really really really scared. I met Pierre Le Noir, Saint-Nicholas' assistant. The one that delivers bad presents to the naughty boys and girls that Santa will not bother to visit.

Daddy and Mommy were there to protect me, but I couldn't wait for him to leave.

Finally I got to see Santa and sing a song with him. I was so happy to see him before he returns to the North Pole. I wanted to thank him from the bottom of my heart for all the nice presents I received over the holidays. Merci Père Noël! See you next year I hope.

Christmas Day (December 25th, 2008)

We had a wonderful Christmas day at Mamie's and Papie's. Daddy was working until 7:00 pm . We had fun playing with Chloée the new puppy Pog, Aunt Stephanie, Uncle Chris, Mommy, Mamie and Papie of course.

Chloée played so much with Daisy and Maya. This is her cute little face right before she is ready to fall asleep. She is so cute!

Once it was time to open the gifts, DAisy and Chloée both fell asleep for the remainder of the evening!
Once daddy got home from work, the insanity started. We received so many gifts, every Christmas, my grand-parents go over the top! Once I went to bed, my parents ate a delicious surf and turf type of meal. Mommy was in heaven while eating her 4 lobster tails.

Daddy and Chris both got a Wii from my grand-parents. They were both so surprised and happy! Just look at daddy's facial expression. It blew his mind, he has been wanting one since Uncle Nilesh and Dan both got one a while ago.

Aunt Stepahnie got the running shoes she wanted.

Uncle Chris got more chocolate, he never has enough! I love dark chocolate too, it's my favourite dessert right now.

Mamie got a brand new purse, and look at her smile. Mamie is truly Maman Noël!

We got a mountain of gifts! Santa must really think we are nice people, he was very generous this year!

I love opening gifts, but most of all I enjoy playing with the people I love the most.

Thank you for every minute you enjoy spending in my company, I appreciate it.
Christmas Eve (December 24th, 2008)

Finally daddy had a few days off over the Holidays.

We went to the neighborhood park as a family.

I also spent a lot of time with Shadow, tante Caro, grand-maman, grand-papa and maman.

Mommy and I also got to see Maribel and her family more often over the holidays. Maribel and I love dancing but Maribel moves her hips like no other baby I have ever met. She is a great dancer and I always enjoy the time spent with her.

Chloée (alias Lolo)

We had a fantastic weekend at Mamie's and Papie's! Papie got a new eliptical machine while aunt Stephanie and uncle Chris got a Pog!

Her name is Chloée and she is 4 months old. Stephanie with her big heart adopted her from a raided puppy mill... Maya calls her Colée or Lolo, Daddy and Mamie call her Cléo and only Mommy gets it right!

We also had a good dinner with our friends Chris, Marianna, Neil, Shannon, Eric and Sandy. Baby Aurelia was there but baby Maya was staying with Mamie and Papie to party! It is so nice to see some friends and catch up, thank you Chris and Marianna.

Here is a short clip of Chloée in action with Maya, Daisy and Doggie (Maya's dog). Enjoy!

To the Aquadome (December 13th 2008)

We finally got to go out with our friends, Maribel, Geneviève, Philippe and Julie. We decided to go to the Lasalle Aquadome. Good choice! It was so much fun. Maya and Maribel went down the mini-slide so many times, and Maya kept on jumping and bobbing in and out of the water. She realized on that day that she can hold her breath on purpose and go under the water for a few seconds. She was so proud of herself, with mighty good reasons!

When we came back, Mommy invited our friends to come and enjoy a fondue night! It was delicious! We have to do this more often. Let me know about your availability and you are invited!

Maya jumping in the water (early December 2008)

Maya's favourite activity is to still go swimming and jumping in the water. We went with Grand-maman that time around. 1 2 3 go jump Maya.

Maya is a genius, it's confirmed and it's on tape! No surprise here for us, we already suspected she was gifted (if you only knew how many parents use this sentence during parent-teacher interviews!). I am not serious when I am making this affirmation, but I am sure she is really smart!

I was asking Maya what she wanted to ask Santa Claus for Christmas since she has been a good girl all year long. I had in mind to ask her that question to have material to write with when I would send Santa a nice letter to the North Pole.

Well Maya answered she wanted calcium (Thums for the ones who don't know that Maya needs to take calcium supplements because she is allergic to soy and dairy), cookies and ketchup. I thought that was really cute and funny, a typical Maya answer what! She started singing her numbers, I had no idea that she knew most of them in English! I was shocked and in awe! There it is, it's on tape, at 2 year and one month she can count to eleven in English!

Maya has started to sleep one night out of two in her big girl bed. I have a feeling she will want to stay in her crib a little longer because she fell off a few times and she did not appreciate being woken up that way!

Not much to say except that the basement of our new house is going under destruction/construction! It keeps us busy most of the weekends.

We want to wish you a very happy week.

Maya's First Flick (November 22nd 2008)

Maya went to see her first movie last weekend. It was only natural to choose to go see Bolt as Maya loves dogs so much!

She was really good for the first 30 minutes as she watched the movie while eating her granola bar. For the next 30 minutes she could no longuer sit still and soon after she started disturbing other people.

It was time for us to leave and pretend to play at the arcade while waiting for cousin Charlotte and aunt Caro to come out of the theatre!

Charlotte was generous and paid for Maya's fare to go on her first Carousel ride. Aunt Caro accompanied Maya since Mommy has severe motion sickness!

Maya still enjoys taking bath especially when we pour bubble bath! She likes to float in the bubbles for so long.

Decorating the Christmas Tree !!! (November 2008)

We decorated the Christmas tree one week ago! Maya loves looking at the Christmas tree and having the nice plastic needles tickle her belly! As soon as she sees the Christmas tree she wants to get naked! Maya is certainly different and original!

We also had a few hours free in our busy schedule to go see Carson during one of our impromptu visit.
These two monkeys had a lot of fun playing with cars and trains while eating their banana.

Here is a little clip of Maya helping decorate the Christmas tree wearing only a diaper! She is starting to find in chilly here to be walking around naked in the house!

Mommy has exactly one more month left at work until she becomes a substitute teacher and has somewhat of a life back! I'll talk to you guys soon and invite you over to help with the renos!

Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween Everybody!!!

Maya was a great firefighter for the
evening. The hat came off really early on! It's a good thing that was fake smoke for us!

It was a perfect evening to go around to collect delicious candies.

Maya is a big fan of the lollipops and chips! She is pretty much allergic to everything else!

We divided the evening into 2 interesting components...

We first went into a haunted maze in the old part of the city with Maribel and cie!

And then, we went on tante Caro's street to go trick or treating with her friends Paul, Catherine, Nikolas and baby Laura. She had so much fun! She was really thirsty and tired by the end of the evening.

Maya took this picture with her first camera. Thank you uncle Nilesh!

The morning after Halloween was the day Maya was willing to get scary make up on. She wanted to do it herself so here is the results!

She was really enjoying the messy experience! Look at her dancing the yaya too, she is adorable!
