Maya is a genius, it's confirmed and it's on tape! No surprise here for us, we already suspected she was gifted (if you only knew how many parents use this sentence during parent-teacher interviews!). I am not serious when I am making this affirmation, but I am sure she is really smart!

I was asking Maya what she wanted to ask Santa Claus for Christmas since she has been a good girl all year long. I had in mind to ask her that question to have material to write with when I would send Santa a nice letter to the North Pole.

Well Maya answered she wanted calcium (Thums for the ones who don't know that Maya needs to take calcium supplements because she is allergic to soy and dairy), cookies and ketchup. I thought that was really cute and funny, a typical Maya answer what! She started singing her numbers, I had no idea that she knew most of them in English! I was shocked and in awe! There it is, it's on tape, at 2 year and one month she can count to eleven in English!

Maya has started to sleep one night out of two in her big girl bed. I have a feeling she will want to stay in her crib a little longer because she fell off a few times and she did not appreciate being woken up that way!

Not much to say except that the basement of our new house is going under destruction/construction! It keeps us busy most of the weekends.

We want to wish you a very happy week.

Maya's First Flick (November 22nd 2008)

Maya went to see her first movie last weekend. It was only natural to choose to go see Bolt as Maya loves dogs so much!

She was really good for the first 30 minutes as she watched the movie while eating her granola bar. For the next 30 minutes she could no longuer sit still and soon after she started disturbing other people.

It was time for us to leave and pretend to play at the arcade while waiting for cousin Charlotte and aunt Caro to come out of the theatre!

Charlotte was generous and paid for Maya's fare to go on her first Carousel ride. Aunt Caro accompanied Maya since Mommy has severe motion sickness!

Maya still enjoys taking bath especially when we pour bubble bath! She likes to float in the bubbles for so long.

Decorating the Christmas Tree !!! (November 2008)

We decorated the Christmas tree one week ago! Maya loves looking at the Christmas tree and having the nice plastic needles tickle her belly! As soon as she sees the Christmas tree she wants to get naked! Maya is certainly different and original!

We also had a few hours free in our busy schedule to go see Carson during one of our impromptu visit.
These two monkeys had a lot of fun playing with cars and trains while eating their banana.

Here is a little clip of Maya helping decorate the Christmas tree wearing only a diaper! She is starting to find in chilly here to be walking around naked in the house!

Mommy has exactly one more month left at work until she becomes a substitute teacher and has somewhat of a life back! I'll talk to you guys soon and invite you over to help with the renos!

Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween Everybody!!!

Maya was a great firefighter for the
evening. The hat came off really early on! It's a good thing that was fake smoke for us!

It was a perfect evening to go around to collect delicious candies.

Maya is a big fan of the lollipops and chips! She is pretty much allergic to everything else!

We divided the evening into 2 interesting components...

We first went into a haunted maze in the old part of the city with Maribel and cie!

And then, we went on tante Caro's street to go trick or treating with her friends Paul, Catherine, Nikolas and baby Laura. She had so much fun! She was really thirsty and tired by the end of the evening.

Maya took this picture with her first camera. Thank you uncle Nilesh!

The morning after Halloween was the day Maya was willing to get scary make up on. She wanted to do it herself so here is the results!

She was really enjoying the messy experience! Look at her dancing the yaya too, she is adorable!
