Spring has sprung (March 2010)

Spring is in the air... at least most days! Yo-yo weather is what we have here in Montreal, just like the Canadiens playing hockey! What do I know... I don't like following the game just wearing their jerseys!

Mom is now a bonified breastfeeding counselor! While she took her classes, papa, mamie, tante Stéphanie and tante Caro all helped babysitting me and Gabriel.

Gabriel just turned 6 months old... and he looks like a toddler sitting like a big boy beside mamie.

Gabriel likes dogs too, just like me. We have a soft spot for Chloé alias Lolo!

I fed Gabriel his second spoonful of cereal at 5 1/2 months. He was not crazy about it. Mommy opted for trying again later in two weeks.

I'm a big girl now. I can climb a wall at the park and play in all the modules. I'm not scared anymore and I love it!

Gabriel is starting to go in the swing. He likes it.

Mommy celebrated Geneviève's birthday with Julie and tante Caro. I was babysat by tante Stéphanie while...

Mr breastfed baby got to be the only boy present with the Chef of course.

We had a private chef, Julie's younger cousin, Olivier, who cooked a wonderful 5 course meal for us.

It was a great idea, it's too bad Gabriel did not sleep much. Actually, Gabriel never sleeps much lately. He used to wake up twice a night.. these were the good old days. Now it's every hour... daddy and mommy are so sleep deprived. They survive on caffeine and Advil! I don't know why but I don't hear my little brother cry. Mommy warned me that I might hear him cry at night because they will let him cry to fall back asleep on his own. He just wants to chew mommy's nipples because his gum is sore. The joys of teething!

That's pure joy on Geneviève's face as she is about the devour a delicious chocolate cake.

Michel is back in Québec. He left his dear South Korea for a year to see if they like it here.

Michel would have never left the best part of South Korea, his wife Subin, behind. We hope to see them very often in the year to come.

I went to my first birthday party without mommy! It was Alexis' birthday. He turned 5 and he is leaving for kindergarten next year. My best friend will go to school while my brother takes his place at daycare.

Mommy took a few pictures as a nice gift for all my friends at daycare. Annabelle, Alexis. Ève, Laurence and I. Camille, Sophie Br and Sophie Ba were not there that day.

Annabelle will also be leaving for pre-school next year. I'm sad but we are all getting bigger.

The daycare moved to a gorgeous 1844 French Canadian house on a huge lot in the countryside. It's the most beautiful house I have ever seen! I love it there even if we have to drive a bite longer to get there. Mommy will take some pictures one day to show you.

We dogsat Shadow all week but mommy did not think to take a single picture! He was good and I was sad to see him go back to tante Caro's house. We saw tante Caro more as she is back from training to become a sexual crime detective.

Finally, look at the way I feed my brother... time flies!

Au revoir Simon (early March 2010)

It was a sad Spring Break for us... Our cousin Simon died at the age of twenty... He was still just a child for all of us since he was afflicted with cerebral palsy since his birth. Mommy took this picture of him during the summer of 2008 while we were playing outside and eating strawberries, Simon was happily listening to the wind and looking at the leaves twirling in the tree above him.

Simon always had a big smile when he saw us. He was always showing his excitement to see us and we will miss him dearly. Bye bye Simon, our little angel, we love you.

It's the first time I am confronted with the death of someone I knew. We saw Simon at least once a month since we moved back to Montreal almost two years ago. We saw him whenever we went to see Charlotte or picked her up to go somewhere. Charlotte stayed with us the day Simon died. We were more than happy to distract her from her sorrow. Mommy managed to take a very good picture of her.
A photographer came to take some pictures of Gabriel that day. It was so much fun that we all decided to be a photographer for a moment and a supermodel. Mommy took this picture of gorgeous Gabriel sticking his tongue out.

Charlotte took this great picture of me. Impressive for a 12 year-old.

At the funeral home, we saw most of our family members. We decided with Ariane to meet again under better circumstances so that grand-maman could meet Juliette.

Grand-maman enjoyed consoling Juliette while her mom Ariane enjoyed playing at the park with me!
I have been asking grand-maman to sleep at her house everynight since she has been back from Florida. I missed her so much. So for the last week I have been sleeping at my grand-maman's and not attending daycare! Grand-maman is also getting her fill of Gabriel. We missed her and she missed us!

Gabriel is really into his feet lately. He plays with them and puts them in his mouth. It's gross. I tell him not to do that but he does it anyway! I don't know what to do with this little wiggling monkey.
Charlotte and I are in love with Baladin le lapin. This lovely mascot was everywhere we went this winter!
Mommy is starting to bring Gabriel outside as the weather is warming up and the snow is melting. We even went to see Honda, Christine's horse. I have been able to go cycling a few times already.
I enjoy inflatable jumping castle anytime of the year. I can't wait to take mine out in my backyard when the snow is gone. This is the big ticket item I got for my 3rd birthday if you remember.
