Spring has sprung (March 2010)

Spring is in the air... at least most days! Yo-yo weather is what we have here in Montreal, just like the Canadiens playing hockey! What do I know... I don't like following the game just wearing their jerseys!

Mom is now a bonified breastfeeding counselor! While she took her classes, papa, mamie, tante Stéphanie and tante Caro all helped babysitting me and Gabriel.

Gabriel just turned 6 months old... and he looks like a toddler sitting like a big boy beside mamie.

Gabriel likes dogs too, just like me. We have a soft spot for Chloé alias Lolo!

I fed Gabriel his second spoonful of cereal at 5 1/2 months. He was not crazy about it. Mommy opted for trying again later in two weeks.

I'm a big girl now. I can climb a wall at the park and play in all the modules. I'm not scared anymore and I love it!

Gabriel is starting to go in the swing. He likes it.

Mommy celebrated Geneviève's birthday with Julie and tante Caro. I was babysat by tante Stéphanie while...

Mr breastfed baby got to be the only boy present with the Chef of course.

We had a private chef, Julie's younger cousin, Olivier, who cooked a wonderful 5 course meal for us.

It was a great idea, it's too bad Gabriel did not sleep much. Actually, Gabriel never sleeps much lately. He used to wake up twice a night.. these were the good old days. Now it's every hour... daddy and mommy are so sleep deprived. They survive on caffeine and Advil! I don't know why but I don't hear my little brother cry. Mommy warned me that I might hear him cry at night because they will let him cry to fall back asleep on his own. He just wants to chew mommy's nipples because his gum is sore. The joys of teething!

That's pure joy on Geneviève's face as she is about the devour a delicious chocolate cake.

Michel is back in Québec. He left his dear South Korea for a year to see if they like it here.

Michel would have never left the best part of South Korea, his wife Subin, behind. We hope to see them very often in the year to come.

I went to my first birthday party without mommy! It was Alexis' birthday. He turned 5 and he is leaving for kindergarten next year. My best friend will go to school while my brother takes his place at daycare.

Mommy took a few pictures as a nice gift for all my friends at daycare. Annabelle, Alexis. Ève, Laurence and I. Camille, Sophie Br and Sophie Ba were not there that day.

Annabelle will also be leaving for pre-school next year. I'm sad but we are all getting bigger.

The daycare moved to a gorgeous 1844 French Canadian house on a huge lot in the countryside. It's the most beautiful house I have ever seen! I love it there even if we have to drive a bite longer to get there. Mommy will take some pictures one day to show you.

We dogsat Shadow all week but mommy did not think to take a single picture! He was good and I was sad to see him go back to tante Caro's house. We saw tante Caro more as she is back from training to become a sexual crime detective.

Finally, look at the way I feed my brother... time flies!

Au revoir Simon (early March 2010)

It was a sad Spring Break for us... Our cousin Simon died at the age of twenty... He was still just a child for all of us since he was afflicted with cerebral palsy since his birth. Mommy took this picture of him during the summer of 2008 while we were playing outside and eating strawberries, Simon was happily listening to the wind and looking at the leaves twirling in the tree above him.

Simon always had a big smile when he saw us. He was always showing his excitement to see us and we will miss him dearly. Bye bye Simon, our little angel, we love you.

It's the first time I am confronted with the death of someone I knew. We saw Simon at least once a month since we moved back to Montreal almost two years ago. We saw him whenever we went to see Charlotte or picked her up to go somewhere. Charlotte stayed with us the day Simon died. We were more than happy to distract her from her sorrow. Mommy managed to take a very good picture of her.
A photographer came to take some pictures of Gabriel that day. It was so much fun that we all decided to be a photographer for a moment and a supermodel. Mommy took this picture of gorgeous Gabriel sticking his tongue out.

Charlotte took this great picture of me. Impressive for a 12 year-old.

At the funeral home, we saw most of our family members. We decided with Ariane to meet again under better circumstances so that grand-maman could meet Juliette.

Grand-maman enjoyed consoling Juliette while her mom Ariane enjoyed playing at the park with me!
I have been asking grand-maman to sleep at her house everynight since she has been back from Florida. I missed her so much. So for the last week I have been sleeping at my grand-maman's and not attending daycare! Grand-maman is also getting her fill of Gabriel. We missed her and she missed us!

Gabriel is really into his feet lately. He plays with them and puts them in his mouth. It's gross. I tell him not to do that but he does it anyway! I don't know what to do with this little wiggling monkey.
Charlotte and I are in love with Baladin le lapin. This lovely mascot was everywhere we went this winter!
Mommy is starting to bring Gabriel outside as the weather is warming up and the snow is melting. We even went to see Honda, Christine's horse. I have been able to go cycling a few times already.
I enjoy inflatable jumping castle anytime of the year. I can't wait to take mine out in my backyard when the snow is gone. This is the big ticket item I got for my 3rd birthday if you remember.

Vive l'hiver (mid-February 2010)

It has been a very nice winter so far!!!

I really enjoy skating and I am good at it!

Thanks to tante Caro and Marc-André, her boyfriend, I get to go skating at least once a week.

Mommy needs help when daddy is working to take us out of the house.

Shadow had a blast running as fast as he could on the ice path. He would make a decent sled dog. He pulled Marc-André a lot on that day!

Mommy and I got to race. I fell a few times but got back up right away to finish first!

Gabriel got to join us again in spite of the chilly wind as he was shielded in Marc-André's super stroller. He cooed the whole time, a sign that he was enjoying himself.

Kiran and Carmen are in town while their town is busy with Olympic fever.

We went to the Musée pour les enfants. We got to pretend during a few hours that we were adults in the work force. We spent a lot of time as firefighters, as cops, as paramedics, race car drivers, fishermen, pilots, etc...

Tante Caro will like these pictures, will I be a police officer when I grow up? I would certainly love to catch the villains like Batman and Spiderman.

It was great, I would love to go back when Gabriel is a bit bigger.

It was fun but loud with hundred of kids from daycare going nuts away from their parents! We went nuts even in the presence of our mothers, you can only imagine for the others!

We got to wear costumes, climb in and out of so many motorized vehicules and touch every thing in sight.
Here are a few clips from the week.

Godfather Dan is in town (early February 2010)

It was Super Bowl weekend at our house!!! Daddy was so excited, he calls it the best day of the year. The cherry on top of the sundae was that Dan and his girlfriend Sinnova were there with us. They flew from Cranbrook just to see me, his Goddaughter!!!

I had a lot of fun playing with Dan, he is really a hands on type of guy.

It was super nice to sepnd time with Daddy as he had 4 days off. We are proud of our local teams, past present and future!!!

Dan got me a Bateman costume, not Batman as everyone else says it! We ran around the house playing good guys and vilains. The vilains are Doc Oc and the Green Goblin while Spiderman and Bateman are the good ones, saving the world.

Daddy really wanted to keep Dan's sunglasses, but he didn't. I would have told on him if he had anyways! Stealing is bad I know that!

Usually Gabriel is all smiles, but not for a fraction of a second with my other Godfather Nilesh. We all have a little cold that I brought in as a gift for everybody!

Mommy and I escaped for two hours and left Daddy with Gabriel to go to a winter festival.

We were supposed to go with Charlotte, but she went to see Avatar instead. That's OK because I only skated for 5 minutes. I was not liking the loop there compare to the one close to home.

I ate several roasted marshmellows. It was so yummy and we watched Abeille Beausoleil perform. I was mesmorized, she is a good singer and dancer! We got to meet her after the show and it was hard for me to find the courage to speak with her! I made sure to tell her that next year we will bring Gabriel, my baby brother to watch her show again. Mommy filmed a portion of the show, I was really quiet and I listen with care to the whole thing!

We played a lot with Mr. Potato head.

I really enjoyed playing with Sinnova, she talks like Mr Maker and she is super nice.

We even went to the Aquadôme together.

It was Gabriel's first time in a pool!

He loved it, just like I did when I was a baby.

I am looking forward to Dan's next visit. Carmen and Kiran are coming soon as well during the Vancouver Olympics. Exciting!!!
