Halloween 2008

Happy Halloween Everybody!!!

Maya was a great firefighter for the
evening. The hat came off really early on! It's a good thing that was fake smoke for us!

It was a perfect evening to go around to collect delicious candies.

Maya is a big fan of the lollipops and chips! She is pretty much allergic to everything else!

We divided the evening into 2 interesting components...

We first went into a haunted maze in the old part of the city with Maribel and cie!

And then, we went on tante Caro's street to go trick or treating with her friends Paul, Catherine, Nikolas and baby Laura. She had so much fun! She was really thirsty and tired by the end of the evening.

Maya took this picture with her first camera. Thank you uncle Nilesh!

The morning after Halloween was the day Maya was willing to get scary make up on. She wanted to do it herself so here is the results!

She was really enjoying the messy experience! Look at her dancing the yaya too, she is adorable!

Maya's 2nd Birthday Party!!! (October 25th 2008)

We celebrated Maya's second birthday all week long!
She was really getting into the whole idea of celebration, seeing people and opening gifts.

Her two God Fathers, Nilesh and Dan, from Vancouver even flew in to celebrate her birthday.
I'm not so sure about the mustache Uncle Dan... It's a good thing that you will only have it until Hallooween day, but I love you anyway!Daddy was loving having his boys over to play video games, watch the Canadiens lose and enjoy talking fantasy football and NFL!
We decided to have a big party and invite everyone Maya has played with since we arrived in Montreal. Almost everyone said yes and came! At some point, we must have been more than 40 people jammed into our new house!
We did not take too many pictures as we were so busy with all the little friends playing and having fun. This was the whole idea, we wanted a nice, relaxed and fun party for all but especially for the children.
So they did, and let me introduce them all to you. I am certain you will see them in the next blogs if you have not met them already in the previous blog entries.

Angie and Kevin even came with their 2 week old daughter Darcy. Maya and many other guests could not take their eyes off this precious newborn. Here is happy Aurelia with daddy Christopher.
Here is William, one of Maya's only 4 second degree cousins. Big brother Felix was also there.
Here is Maya with Paul and daddy Andre. Paul is tante Caro little neighbour. Maya really got to know him during our extended stay there.

Here is Louis (8 months), who was having so much fun rolling around on the floor, with big sister Naomie (3 years old) and Maya below.

Naomie (3 year old) and Louis are the grand-children of grand-maman's and grand-papa's neighbours. Maya spends so much time with her grand-maman, that she became friend with Naomie over her several visits.
Here is Christine that will always be a child.
Here is shy Carson (2 years old) with mommy Shirley.
Here is Sofia (3 months) with mommy Johanne.

a
Here is soon to be mommy Alexandra and mommy Geneniève with her gorgeous daughter Maribel (18 months) below.
Thank you to all our friends and for all the warm birthday wishes you sent from across the country. Maya is blessed to know you all.

This is a short clip where Maya plays with her first big Patato Head! Thank you tante Caro. Notice how Maya calls for her aunt to come, Cawo.

Early October 2008

It is nice to take an hour break and write a blog for our family. I have been super busy with my new English teacher job, the new house, the renos and the family outings.

Fall is here, it's my favourite season here in the East. Maya is also having fun and here is the proof.

We once again went apple picking! The excuse this time was to gather the precious Empire kind of apple! They are so good, we cannot get enough of these.

Maya even went one extra time with her daycare!

I guess it's a really popular activity around here. I love it, we have been doing it since I was a little girl and I hope Maya will grow up to enjoy it as much as Caro and I like it!

We celebrated Thanksgiving in the West Island with Maya's beloved uncle Chris... she stops eating for this man. Her heart will be broken once she realizes he is married to her aunt Stephanie!

Ryan, her cousin was all over Maya, but Maya was more interested at batting her eyelashes at uncle Chris!

She had a fabulous time in the hot tub with Ryan and Holly as mommy was making sure no one was drowning! Too bad we don't have pictures of that.

We live in a neighbourhood full of mature trees. It was so nice to see Maya jumping and rolling in the colourful leaves as I was trying to make big piles in order to transfert them into a plastic bag. Maya hates it when we deny her something, such as looking at the image on the back of the camera (she does not understand that it defies the purpose of filming someone!). You can see her having a small fit!

A few minutes later, I got her to jump into the leaves again and to forget about the camera and enjoy the moment!

Maya's Obsession with Cream!!! (Late August 2008)

This week was different for Maya and the rest of t
he family...

Mommy was working all week getting ready to greet her students on September 2nd. Maya had not started daycare yet...so she got to be taken care for by five different people! Thank you Grand-maman, Tante Caro, Papa, Tante Solange and Tante Stéphanie! Maya really enjoyed the time spent with all of them.

We had a busy weekend going to garage sa
les to pick up fantastic toys for Maya. Christmas comes very often for Maya! She was very happy to play with her new hair brushes, lipsticks and mirrors with her beloved Papie.

She really enjoys her firefighter hat which she calls hapeau (dropping the very important C).

Mommy also got the wear the precious chapeau!

Beware, Maya is into a naked phase. She is getting ready to put on cream everywhere we go! At home playing in the backyard with Shadow...

At Angie's baby shower in front of strangers...

She did not contaminate Sofia yet with her crazy ways! (Sofia is Johanne's baby who is 6 weeks old).
She had a great time playing in a tent during the baby shower.

Maya has been obsess for the last three months with lathering cream on everybody, including herself! She would be putting on a thick layer of cream on everything that moves or not all day long if we let her. She cries to no end when we finally decide to remove the bottle or the tube from her greasy hands! It's a good thing that her uncle Chris works for J&J and we can get cream for next to nothing! Oh, she also loves her uncle Chris (the one married to her aunt Stephanie, yes there are so many Chrisses in our lives and we love them all!). I will let you enjoy the short videoclip on that.

The other clip is about Maya welcoming Angie at her surprise baby shower. Very cute indeed.

Have a nice week dear readers.
