Semaines 20 & 21
(du 24 mars au 13 avril 2007)
This blog will be written in English since most of our francophone readers are very aware of what happened during our Montreal visit! Enjoy, I know it's a rare treat for some of you.
P.S. I have spent some time with my in-laws but I am waiting to get a CD with the pictures taken at their house.
Maya turned 5 months during our visit to Montreal. She looks less like a newborn and more like a pre-toddler! She is full of life, very alert and curious, always moving and smiling. She is a real ray on sunlight for everyone that meets her.
What have we done during our two-week visit to Montreal? Here is a quick summary. On the plane ride to go to Montreal, Maya was great. She barely slept but she was so happy, it did not matter. She was flirting with the nice looking young man sitting beside us! It was hard for the McGill commerce student to concentrate on his studying as Maya was constantly starring at him!
We were greeted at the airport by a very tanned and slim Mamie and red and hyper Papie! We were so happy to see them again. The first thing we did once we got to their house was to set up a baby Einsten playstation. It was very funny and frustrating at the same time. It's a good thing that Maya really enjoyed that toy during her stay in the West Island.
We spent the rest of the week at Grand-maman and Grand-papa on the South Shore. We got to spend some time with Julie, Isabelle and her beautiful boys; Laurent and Louis. We went on a nice walk and ended up on the swings at the park. Mommy caught a nasty stomach flu and spent a really rough Wednesday night. Maya also got sick but not as seriously as mommy. Thank goodness that grand-maman was there to help us during this ordeal. A few days later grand-papa and aunt Stef also caught the nasty virus.
Mommy went to Geneviève baby shower on Saturday night while Mamie and Papie were babysitting Maya. Mommy had a great time playing games and laughing with her old friends. Geneviève simply looks amazing at her 32 week of pregnancy. There nothing more beautiful than a pregnant woman, except maybe a young baby! Maya probably had a harder time while she was babysat since she refused to take the bottle...but no worries, her grand-parents cheered her up and played with her until she went to bed.
On Sunday night we had an excellent supper with another pregnant woman; Marianna and daddy Chris. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot as we talked about pregnancy and America Next Top Model!
We went back to the South Shore for the rest of the week. Mommy got a super haircut with a crazy dark brown/red color! She looks good and very different! Maya really likes to pull on it all day long.
We saw Christine on Tuesday, she was gifted at making Maya laugh. We saw our cousins Geneviève and Melanie on Wednesday. We went shopping and had supper at a good Morrocan restaurant. On Thursday, mommy went sahopping again, but this time with Julie and had lunch with her at a new Sushi place. This time around Mommy found a lot of clothes and that's a good thing since it was Julie's gift for Mommy's birthday!
On Easter Friday, Mommy went shopping again with Aunt Caroline, but did not find more than new socks and undies. Mommy really hates shopping and still does not have much to wear except track suits! The weather was pretty nasty, so shopping was a good activity I guess! We also got to see Maya's great aunt Monique and uncle Michel and her great cousins Camille and Laurianne.Saturday was the big 30-year old birthday bash for Mommy at the Sugar Shack/Cabane a sucre. It was so much fun. So many people came I was really surprised and touched. The food was good but the company much better!

Easter Sunday was dedicated to eating in good company. The food was more than delicious thanks to Mamie and Papie cooking skills. Maya got to play with her great cousins Holly and Ryan. We had once again a lot of fun.
The last two days were spent with Grand-maman and aunt Caroline. We had a surprise visit from Julie, Geneviève, Francine, Jocelyne, Marie-Ève and Gail. Maya was so good with everybody. She just went with the flow and laughed her head off with everyone. She is such a good baby.
The airplane trip to get back to Vancouver was a litlle rougher since Maya is a lot more mobile now. She does not like to stay still for very long. She managed to sleep through most of the flight when a teething baby finally stopped crying and fell asleep.
Thank you to everyone for making this trip memorable. We love you so much and we will see you in July during our next visit.
